This study was conducted to determine the relationship between students' emotional expressions towards their mothers, fathers, home and family relationships, and their perceptions about intra-family relationships. 330 students studying in 4th and 5th grades along with their advisory teachers participated in the study. The "mixed method" was used in the present study. 1While "general scanning method" was used as quantitative feature of the study, the "interview method" was used as qualitative feature. "General Information Form", "Beier Sentence Completion Test" and "Family Relationship Scale for Children" were used as data collection tools. In addition, "Interview Form" was used to determine the views of advisory teachers about families of the students who were included in the study group. At the end of the study, it is seen that students were completing the sentences starting as "the very best moms…. , my mom… .., if my mother…. ” positively, and completing the sentences starting as “I love my mother but…., I wish my mother were …. " negatively. It draws attention that while the student completed the statements given as "the very best dads ...., a bad father ...., my dad and me...." about the father in a positive way, they completed the ones starting as "sometimes my father ... , if my father ....". It was determined that students completed all expressions about home and family relations positively. While there was no significant difference between boys and girls in supportive family relationships in the "emotional expressions of students towards their mothers, fathers and home and family relationships" and "perceptions of intra-family relationships" regarding gender, boys' scores were found to be significantly higher in obstructive family relationships. A statistically significant relationship was found between the positive and negative emotional expressions of the students towards their mothers, fathers, home and family relationships and their family relationships. It has been determined that students with more positive emotional expressions towards their mothers, fathers and home and family relationships perceive intra-family relationships as supportive. When the advisory teachers` views were examined, it was seen that the emotional expressions of the students and their views were consistent. During the middle childhood period, participation of the families in their children’s school life decreases so it will be really helpful to plain activities and conduct studies that boost their participation.
