The epidemics have decimated human beings for ages. However, Cholera that has existed upwards 1817 had caused huge deaths comparing to other epidemics. The epidemic that British ships carry to every side of the world from India was seen in Ottoman Land first time in 1822. This epidemic had been spread to Ottoman Land by means of commercial relations, migrations, wars, and pilgrimages. The epidemics that are seen periodically all over the world had caused huge lose in the population and socio-economic side by spreading to Ottoman Land. More cases and death occurred in the second epidemic wave that was seen in Antalya between 1894 and 1895 compared to the previous Cholera epidemic that has seen in this city first time in 1866. There were no doctors graduated from medicine in Antalya before the 1866 Epidemic. However, during the 1894-1895 Epidemic, the illness was controlled by appointed doctors by means of treating patients and disinfection of diseased areas with atomizers imported. A Quarantine Control Station was built in Antalya in the first half of the nineteenth century. During the epidemics, immigrants coming to Antalya were examined and kept 10 days in quarantine in this station. Moreover, when entrance and exit to the city were banned and the surroundings of Antalya was cordoned, residents of Antalya and Alanya protested the quarantine because of making loss. On the other hand, doctors and civil servants were responsible in this Quarantine Control Station. They were complained because of bribery from non-Muslims returned to the city during the 1866 Epidemic. During the 1894- 1895 Epidemic, another complaint subject was about the Governor (Mutasarr?f) of Antalya. According to the complaint, the governor had made residents work in construction of the Macadamized Road of Kesikbeli. During the construction, the governor had caused to spread and transmission of Cholera because of not taking indispensable precaution.
