The day which the Central Asia Turks and the Iranians accepted as New Year, is expressed in the Persian language as Nevrûz. However, the word actually means new day. This is the day when the sun enters into Aries. Together with these characteristics, Nevrûz is a makam which has taken place among the basic mode sequences from the 13th century i.e. 12 makam tradition in the Turkish Makam Music. In fact, Nevrûz remel savt with Arabic lyrics determined by the systemic school founder Safiyüddin Urmevis by letter note belongs to this mode this is the first work of Turkish makam music that is determined by music writing. Today this mode corresponds to the U??ak scale. There are four schools in Turkish Makam and Music Theory Studies: Middle Ages Islamic Region/ Systematical School, 15th Century Ottoman – Anatolian School, 17-19th centuries studies and 20th century studies. In this article, the concept of Nevrûz and the makam of Nevrûz will be examine in a relative and comparative manner. These evaluations will be made on works named Nevrûz in the repertoire. In this context, it was screened literature, used historical and musical analysis methods.
