Consumption behaviors have created negative effects on the environment by socialization of consumption, becoming an integral part of social life and becoming an integral part of socio-economic order and progress. As the world population grew rapidly, the need for resources increased at the same rate, and industrial activities grew in proportion to meet the increasing demand. Since industrial activities have increased, environmental pollution such as air pollution and soil pollution has emerged. In addition to industrial activities, unsustainable consumption modes also spent a large amount of resources and produced significant environmental pollution. While production processes and resource efficiency have long been the target of environmental policy, unsustainable consumption patterns of developed economies are at the center of today's economic, social and environmental crises. Sustainable consumption is a theoretical concept that arises in response to the growing concern about mass consumption and the pernicious environmental and social consequences of sustained high-level economic growth. The aim of sustainable consumption policies is to promote a range of behavioral changes such as greater efficiency in household energy and resource consumption, minimization of waste, and environmentally sensitive purchasing habits of households. However, it is very difficult to change consumption habits, because it is not enough for individuals to change their own values and behaviors in order to promote sustainable consumption behavior. The aim of the study is to examine the sustainable purchasing behavior of consumers as a part of sustainable consumption behavior. In this study, which was developed for sustainable purchasing behavior, the screening model was used. The population of the study is composed of consumers in Çank?r? province. The questionnaire method was used to obtain the necessary data for the research. As a result of the research, it has been found that the motivation of consumers towards sustainable purchasing behavior which is a part of sustainable consumption that is important for both businesses and consumers nowadays has a significant effect on current purchasing behaviors
