A RESEARCH ON DETERMINING THE CAUSES OF VIOLENCE AGAINST HEALTH EMPLOYEES

Violence appears in different ways and in many channels in today's world. One of these is violence against healthcare workers. In this study; it is aimed to determine whether the reasons for violence against health workers and the reasons of violence differ according to the demographic characteristics of the participants. The research was carried out between 01 May 2019 and 30 June 2019. The population of the study consists of individuals over the age of 18 who live in Yalova. The ‘survey method’ was used in the research. Within the scope of the research, 350 participants were reached, but 271 questionnaires could be included in the analysis due to missing and incorrect data entry. SPSS 23.0 package program was used for analysis. As a result of the analysis; the most important reason for the violence against health workers is that the patients and their relatives are mistreated (3.25 ± 1.37), while the least important reason for violence against health workers is the inexperience of health workers (2.79 ± 1.16).
