Maya is one of the unmetered folk music genres that have a special place in the traditional and cultural aspects in Turkish folk music. Differing from other species in terms of performance and seyir characteristics, Maya has a unique character. The purpose of this research is to study the Maya song in TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Association) Turkish unmetered folk music repertoire in terms of resource person, region, genre. In addition, it is aimed to reveal expert artist views on this genre. In the research, qualitative research methods were carried out by using the general screening model and interview technique was applied. The scope of the research consists of 1072 works in the TRT Turkish unmetered folk music repertoire, and the sample consists of 18 Maya genres in the TRT Turkish unmetered folk music repertoire. As a result of the research, it was determined that the people who quantitatively provided TRT Turkish unmetered folk music repertoire the most quantitative amount of works in the Maya genre are Hafiz ?erif Tan?nd? (?erif of Erzincan), Hafiz Osman Ö?e, Hulusi Seven and Mahmut Güzelgöz, and that it is a species that is sung only in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions, and it belongs to Elaz??, Erzincan, Erzurum and ?anl?urfa neighborhoods. It was observed that there are four different Maya species in the Turkish unmetered folk music repertoire, which are named as Maya, Cigali Maya, Bridal Maya and Harput Maya. It was concluded that Maya is the most commonly used naming among these species.
