Ottoman thinking and literature beag to affected by Europe in XIX. century. Turkish people who went to Europe tried to find solution for backwardness. In this study we analyzed Hodja Tahsin’s biographical poem which talks about Said Aga who was sent to Europe in order to investigate technological innovations. The poem puplished after the death of Said Aga. Her reflects the dualistic structure of that era. He never practices European life, but in theory level he is agree with it. Moreover he wants to apply scientific and technological developments to the Ottoman. Although he was illiterate he has idea about everything. In Said Aga’s life, Ottoman’s westernization adventure can be seen as well.
