Semiotics is a research field which aims to study and analysis the meaning of the constitution of meaningful whole. As this review has its own systematic and integrated structure, semiotics also pass as an analysis method. In this study, Sabahattin Kudret Aksal’s Hovarda is examined according to the semiotic analysis method. Semiotic analysis method investigates the constitutions in three level: discoursive level, narrative level and thematic level. This study includes discoursive and narrative level. Thematic level can be found in the interpretation of other levels and semantic contrast. After the narrative persons, time and place are examined, states and transformations are identified. By taking into consideration those transformations, segmentations and actantial narrative schema are examined in detail. After segmentation, narrative program has been mapped out. Then, findings are combined to achieve the tenor. In addition to those findings, transformations which form the rhythm of the narrative and contradictions are seen in the story. Those findings show that the meaning in the surface structure and the meaning in the deep structure are not same.
