In this study, the so-called Garânîk event was processed with a methodological point of view specific to historical studies and the Qur’an was used as the basic reference source. Besides, tafsir, hadith and Islamic history sources were also utilized. It is concluded that Islamic scholars who took the narratives indicating satanic interference by confronting Prophet Muhammad with such an incident to their books without resorting to the filters of mystery, revelation, history and science were found to be primarily responsible. As a result of this study it is understood that the Garânîk event was fictionalised/made up by evil-minded person (s) in order to shake the foundations of Islam and bring prophet’s innocence on announcement into disrepute and finally make the revelation questionable considering God’s protection on his revelation and the status of Prophet Muhammad on announcement.
