The main aim of this study is to prepare a review by conducting a general literature review on flood disasters and its devastating consequences. In this study, which was prepared by examining a large number of publications, necessary definitions were made by considering disaster, flood and flood types, risk concept and flood risk, and studies on these subjects were compiled and gathered. In this context, literature information has been scanned in terms of social, economic and other effects caused by the flood disaster, which is one of the natural disasters that are common in the world and cause loss of life and property. Finally, it is aimed to be a preliminary study for scientific studies on this subject.
