Firaset as a term in Arabic language is a discipline about relations between physical structure and character of human. Kiyafet discipline which is derived from “k””v””f“ templates and means "to trace" and also it is about making an inference regarding character and moral properties with the help of visible physical signs, is a field of study which is subject to many pieces of art in east and west. Many poetical and prosaic texts in kiyafetname and firasetname type were written as literate types in Turkish literature.
“Haza Kitab-? Firasetname ve K?yafetname” book of Mustafa ?bn-i Evrenos is one of the pieces of art written in this type. The importance of this prosaic type of work which does not have too much literate value is that it interprets info received about concept of being judge of character, which has a place in our culture, from eastern and western sources. This work which aims to recognise and define low down, morality and character of humans, can also be assumed as an important source in terms of our cultural history.
