This research draws attention to the academic contributions of geographers in the discipline of tourism which is an interdisciplinary area. For this reason, the main purpose of the research is to determine the academic role and importance of geographers in the development of tourism discipline with quantitative data. For this purpose, the following two basic questions will be searched during the research. What is the epistemological relationship between tourism and geography discipline? What is the academic contribution of geographers to tourism discipline? In this direction, the following questions will be searched for the answers: What are the most effective magazines in tourism discipline and what are the disciplinary tendencies? Who are the most publishing scientists in these magazines and what is the disciplinary distribution of these scientists? Who are the most cited scientists in these magazines and what is the disciplinary distribution of these researchers? Information on the impact factors and spatial trends of tourism magazines for responding to such research questions has been obtained from Scimago, the product of Elsiver. Indicators of the publication "Annals of Tourism Research", which was determined as a sample for publication order and citation order, were also obtained through Elsiver's product Scopus. In order to reveal the interdisciplinary contribution to the list of publication sequencing and citation sequencing, a disciplinary history of the scientists was added and a descriptive analysis was made. According to the result of the research, bibliometric indicators show that geography discipline and geography are sometimes the leader and sometimes second in the tourism discipline. Therefore, geography and geographers' position in tourism discipline is still very important.
