Arabic poetry, which began to develop with the increase of contact with the Western literature in the 20. century, has taken important steps towards modernization. As a result of these taken steps, various groups of poems have emerged especially to strengthen the place of poet and poetry in society. One of them is the Apollo Group. Apollo, originally described as a group, has been transformed into an ecole in line with its goals and objectives. This ecole, which has written poems influenced by the current of romance, is the first community to bring free poetry to the agenda. Ahmed Zeki Abu Shadi is the chief architect of this ecole, which has the opportunity to be recognized in all Arab countries, especially Egypt, with its contributions to modern Arabic poetry. A?med Zeki Abu Shadi has been intertwined with poetry since his young age and has made significant contributions to Arabic poetry through his numerous works. In particular, he tried to take poetry to a certain level in the modern sense, and by supporting poets in every sense, he encouraged them to write poetry. He was also the first poet to acquire free poetry, called” coShi'ru'l-mursel “and” co-Shi'ru'l-hurr", into Arabic literature. Within this information, we will try to deal with the life, literary personality and works of Ahmed Zeki Abu Shadi, as well as his place in Apollo Ecole, his purpose in creating this ecole and what he put forward in the field of poetry.
