Because tourism includes multiple and complex cases and events it is a concept with a wide range of definitions. The reason for many definitions of tourism are made is because of the people who define the tourism concepts are subject to different perspectives and of elements that seem important to them. Tourism is defined as people's main events and relationships resulting from travel and temporary accommodation at their free time that is left from their occupation or from their desire of recreation (rest and leisure, regeneration). A rapid change in the world with a variety of areas such as health, faith, springs, sports, congress, caves, and gastronomy tourism is experiencing transformation as an alternative to the mass tourism culture based on Sun, sea, and sand trio. The World Tourism Organization forecasts for this issue that the importance of alternative tourism will gradually increase and will have its mark on the industry. Turkey is one of the few countries in the world that landforms and climate show great changes even at short distances. These different environments have led to the emergence of a very rich and varied tourism value. Surrounded by the sea on three sides to every aspect of tourism in Turkey it is conveniently located next to the spectacular coastal areas that are suitable for all kinds of tourism. Turkey has got the potential of social tourism with cultural, shopping and educational centers, congresses, conference activities, besides the social tourist areas, that are not found anywhere else in the world there are rivers, lakes, biodiversity, hunting, mountaineering and winter sports, air sports, caves, thermal springs, underwater diving, karst and volcanic areas with places such as bird watching; numerous historical and cultural values per step. Unfortunately, in such a rich country touristic potential is not well organized because of inadequate plans, programs, transportation, accommodation facilities and infrastructure services besides training and organizational services. Those failures of tourism and the management are often raised by tourism authorities but not taken any serious steps regarding the solution of a problem. After all those riches cannot be fully evaluated and Turkey cannot come to the place it deserves in the field of tourism. In this study, it is aimed to rescue tourism from fixed time and place and to have precautions for minimizing environmental pollution, to contribute to people's health and culture development in a positive way, to draw attention to the presence of different tourism activities and contribute to the elimination of barriers that impede the better utilization of the rich tourism potential. So as to make that goal real, tourism merits of Turkey have shortly been introduced as one of the richest countries by means of alternative tourism potential in the world.
