Abstract

Author(s): Aytunç ÖZER

According to the philosophy of the French philosopher Louis Althusser; it is necessary for the class, person or group holding the state government, to place their own ideological understandings to the society, in order to keep state power permanently in their hands. This is only possible within the system called 'State Ideological Equipments'; that exists to spread the state ideology to the smallest unit of society through religious institutions, educational institutions, legal institutions, political situations, trade unions, family, communication and cultural institutions. With this article, that is based on Althusser's 'State of Ideological Equipments' system, during the process starting from the publication of the Republic until the death of Mustafa Kemal, the process of collective spreading and influencing of the Kemalist ideology through performing arts has been examined
