Mustafa Kutlu who started his art life with designs and stories he published at Fikir ve Sanatta Hareket is one of the outstanding story writers of recent Turkish literature. Mustafa Kutlu has taken part in the history of Turkish literature he deserved with the help of thematical style, new forms and stylistic trials. Having written considering the Classical Eastern Style, Kutlu has started a long story period just after the work he published in 2000 named Uzun Hikâye and has published long stories continually. In this paper, we are going to analyze Uzun Hikâye which is the first work of the writer in his long story period. Uzun Hikâye is a long story telling the incidents immigrant Ali and his son experienced in the context of migration as a notion and in a nostalgical atmosphere. The point which attracts the attention in Uzun Hikâye is its being in an autobiographical nature. The incidents told in Uzun Hikâye which was written with a quite fluent language and show parallelism with some of the writer experienced and the characters he met in his life. The work of the writer mentioned in our paper is going to be analyzed according to plot, characters, time, setting, language and style together with reflections to the work in terms of writer and realization.
