Author(s): Ä°lhan ERSOY

Music is an expression culture that has been seen in almost every society and thus it has a universal feature ontologically. Besides the other components or constituents, the way it is vocalized/performed and how it has been made sense differentiates it from the others. Style or genre that has been generally accepted at this point has a vital role about how the performance is done. So, there is a style in almost all kinds of music and the fact that this style is prominent or visible in the performance legitimizes it in the related kind of music and gets it to belong to a particular sort. Style, among the traditional musics in Turkey, is usually approached in the frame of authenticity, esthetics and ideological that has been tightly coincided with the old of the caharacteristic of performance. Whether the authenticity has got different concepts and dynamics apart from the musical ones such as skills or abilities as a value shaping the performance of authenticity, has been one of the subjects of curiosity in this paper.
