AN APPLIED STUDY ON THE URBAN ADAPTATION OF IMMIGRANTS FROM RURAL POPULATION TO THE URBAN AREAS AND URBANIZATION LEVEL: A CASE OF AGRI

One of the most important consequences of the migration from rural areas to urban areas is failure accommodation of people who are participating to the urban life. Countries with a high growing urban population like Turkey, this trouble is seen very often, primarily big municipalities that are taking migrants; a population living in urban however is not become urbanized and hosting the urban problems that are exposed by this population.

With this study, it is aimed to bring to light, in Ar? city which is intensely experiencing the staged migration phenomena, socio-economic and economic structure, adaptation time to the urban life and the problems that they face in this time period. For this purpose, a 30 questioned survey prepared to measure the adaptation time and the demographic, socio-cultural and economic properties.

With survey technics in 6 neighborhoods that were formed by migrants, 390 participants were reached, with the explanation of obtained data, the urban adaptation of rural migrants and derived data about urbanization. Explaining of obtained findings introduced that there are several results about the adaptation of rural population which migrated to the urban.
