Abstract As a woman, Leyla Erbil is one of the leading authors in Turkish literature both with themes and styles she chose to use in her each work. She became one of the strongest representatives of the modernist Turkish literature through her novels, novellas, letters, short stories and other works under different genres. In this paper, her novella ‘’The Dwarf’’ is taken into focus by analyzing the style of language and line of the narration she followed in telling the story. In the first part of the paper, her authorship and linguistic aspects of her novels are analyzed. In the second part, the line of narration in the novella is analyzed in order to show the change of language with the appearance of each protagonist under each part. In the last part, based on the analysis of linguistic and narrative aspects, a directive is drawn upon for a translator that is willing to take over the mission and vision to translate the source text into English. By this way, the translator is given the chance to gain insight about how to carry the taste of the original text to the target readers
