In the 21st century, one of the most prominent policies of countries is training individuals to be qualified. Being a qualified individual is related to the individual’s sociocultural development. Mobility of individuals has the most significant effect on this development. Accordingly, the Council of Higher Education launched Mevlana Exchange Programme for students and academicians in 2013. As part of Mevlana Exchange Programme, university students may study and academicians may lecture abroad for one or two terms. In this study, five (5) undergraduate students who are studying / studied abroad were interviewed. During the semi-conducted interviews, open ended questions were used for data collection. The data was categorized into five topics: Foreign language improvement, Cuisine, Climate, Relations, and living conditions. Based on these topics, the effect of Mevlana Exchange Programme on individuals’ sociocultural development was inferred.
