The purpose of the study is to examine how the thesis studies performed regarding the history of teacher education in Turkey are distributed in terms of some variables. Five stages were followed in the study where document examination was done as reaching the document, checking the originality, understanding the documents, analyzing data and using data. It is found out in the present study that the first thesis prepared on the issue of the history of teacher education in Turkey was in 1970 and that since then, there has been no considerable increase in the number of thesis. It is shown that the master thesis and PhD dissertations prepared on the issue of the history of teacher education in Turkey were mostly performed in Ni?de, Gazi, Marmara and Ankara Universities.
