It is accepted that the festivals are an important influence on the revitalization of economy, culture and tourism. Due to its rapid growth in recent times, it is also considered to be one of the attraction centers for tourism. Among the different types of festivals in terms of local tourism development, gastronomic festivals are among the most popular festivals. Gastronomy festivals provide tourism experience beyond just a meal or dining experience, and gastronomic festivals reinforce local food businesses, encourage preservation of food and biodiversity, and help maintain local identities, in addition to these positive contributions. This study was compiled in order to identify and determine gastronomic festivals organized in Turkey and provide a source for future gastronomy festivals to be organized. In order to achieve this purpose, the sites of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the municipalities were examined and data were provided and information about organized gastronomy festivals was given.
