Nowadays, when the individual's existence in the society is viewed from the social life point of view, fort his reason the public spaces in the cities have a very important place. The content that constitutes the aesthetic level of public spaces, which have a determinant role in the level of quality of life of communities, cities and individuals, is formed by this determination. The processes of production, consumption and design directly affect the public spaces in which the individual demonstrates its existence and where the conflict of power takes place, at the center of everyday life. When art finds public space, art and society live independently in relation to and interaction with this space. The art actions involved in public spaces need to be taken into consideration when looking at from the perspective of space, content, formation and production. The public space of the free individual produces many artistic movements within itself. The walls in the public space; it is a means by which individual, social struggles, or artistic actions are shown in the face of many opinions as much as it serves the system in which it is located. The opposing cultures, as the form of self-expression, are coming up with different projects. The project of Mural Istanbul Festival organized by Kad?köy Municipality is one of them. This project, which started in 2012, is being carried out by some mural artists who are produces artworks in Kad?köy district of Istanbul. In this study; mural artworks produced within the scope of the festival were examined in order to evaluate the meaning of the works created in the public spaces and the relations and contributions of these works to the public space were examined.
