Gender is a concept about being a woman or man that is shaped according to the views of society and separates from biological sex with this perspective. Although the meaning of societies on women and men varies from culture to culture, in almost every society, women continue to live as beings who are becomed of secondary importance. This situation causes gender inequality. In this study, gender studies in the field of education in Turkey were examined. Although these studies have increased in recent years; Turkey is still not able to come to an adequate level related with gender equality. Studies on gender were mostly studied with university students but the number of studies conducted with families and especially children in pre-school period is limited. In order to implement gender equality in all segments of society, awareness studies should be started from a very early age. In this regard, the studies to be carried out on raising awareness of family and teachers and various campaigns were presented among the suggestions.
