Whenthesilent film endsup, theterms of today’sconcept, “the film withvoice” starts, themostdifficultthingmakingthe film being on abroad is not havingthecapacity on thelanguage of theothercountry. There has been a struggletoreach a solutiontoshowthesame film in differentcountries. At theend of thissolution, subtitle, addingthetranslationtextbelowthe film withoutmakinganychangeintotheoriginalvoice, is one of thissolutionsrevealingout. Theotherone is dubbing, replacingthevoicechannel of thecountrywiththeoriginalone. Film Translation is a subject examined in the applied field rather than the theoretical field. This translation activity has a wide range of target receivers.In this study cinema, cinema history, film translation and its role in the applied translation studies and ideas on translation methods will be developed and examined
