Clothing, which was needed since the first man stepped on earth, reveals information on various features of the society like how the geographical conditions affect the way of life of people. In this study, it was aimed to examine how the traditional dressing of the people of Northern Cyprus was and to find out to origins of the traditional clothes of the people of Northern Cyprus in accordance with the available data. After the capture of Island of Cyprus by the Ottoman Empire, the immigration ban provided the opportunity to live together with different cultures in Anatolia from the central Anatolia, Mediterranean and Western regions of Anatolia. Moreover, with the Greek Cypriot people living in the region, various cultural exchanges have been organized. Over time, different colours come together and become a new synthesis, creating their own culture. Traces left by the Anatolian and Greek cultures should not be forgotten when the Turkish Cypriot culture of North Cyprus comes to the scene.
