Cinema is in a close relationship with philosophy due to its quality of theoretical, conceptual background and ability to produce thought. Cinema is regarded as a system that reflects and evokes the thinking activity in the center of philosophy. Cinema forms a new universe of reality; and utilises images while creating this universe of reality. Cinema reflects a copy of reality with films rejuvenating images in a unique way. In this way, films create an awareness regarding how the reality is perceived by our minds. A film creating a perception of reality, although it resembles real life, becomes the reproduction of that reality, not the reality itself. Within the framework of these statements, the relationship between cinema and philosophy will first be revealed in the article and then the analogy between the film and the mind will be addressed with respect to this. Following that, the relationship of the artificial intelligence with consciousness will be evaluated with a detailed analysis through the film Ex Machina and Ava character. As a result, in the article, it is aimed to reveal the relationship between philosophy and cinema with reference to cinema theorists and evaluate the effect of the artificial intelligence on human existence through the film Ex Machina.
