ANALYSIS OF THE SECONDARY SCHOOL 5TH GRADE ENGLISH CURRICULUM ACCORDING TO THE BLOOM’S REVISED TAXONOMY

The aim of this study is to evaluate the convenience of the functions of 2020-2021 Educational Year Fifth Grade English Curriculum according to the Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy. The evaluation of the Fifth Grade English Curriculum aims to see to what extent the curriculum appeals to the knowledge level of the pupils by determining in which category the functions belong to and to determine the cognitive level of the functions in the curriculum. The data obtained have been converted to charts and graphics. The data have been interpreted and evaluated by two researchers. It has been observed that English lesson functions are concentrated on remembering, understanding and application in terms of cognitive process dimensions according to the Bloom’s Revised Taxonom. In addition, it has been detected that no functions are included in analysis, evaluation and creation steps. As a result of this study, it has been concluded that functions are suitable to the pupils’ level but it is necessary to diversify the functions by considering each step and focus on functions which are on a suitable level and include upper cognitive skilss.
