Aksaray, which has hosted many civilizations since the prehistoric times, mainly Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman, is a province that draws attention with its unique historical and cultural structure in the Cappadocia region. Güzelyurt, which is one of the most beautiful examples of civil and religious architectural structures belonging to the Roman and Byzantine period, which is a district of Aksaray, draws attention in this context. Ornaments seen in architectural structures throughout history; together with the possibilities of the period in which it was found, has been used as a means by which emotions, thoughts and beliefs are embodied. Decoration is beginning with the existence of mankind. The desire to express the feelings and thoughts of human beings with any object has manifested itself in a different style in every culture, with a very old past. The stone ornaments seen in the Güzelyurt (Gelveri) constructions, which have been home to different civilizations; offers valuable information about the political, economic, socio-cultural, religious and beliefs of the communities that lived at that time. In the district, it was worth examining in terms of what the herbal beauties seen in architectural structures are for these purposes and what they mean. This work; communities that lived in the historical period; socioeconomic direction, revealing its interactions with different cultures, making meaning and interpretation.
