The Qur’an and Sunnah, which Prophet Muhammed left as custody, are the path of guidance, belief, and morality. Muslims’ living in accordance with the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah constitute the integrity of Islamic moral values. Babanzade Ahmed Naim (d.1353/1934), the son of Mustafa Zihni Pasha, was born in Baghdad, studied elementary school there, then came to Istanbul and continued his education in this city. For a long time, Babanzade Ahmed Naim gave lectures in social sciences such as philosophy, logic, psychology, and morality in Darulfunun. His work titled “Ahlak-? ?slamiyye Esaslar?” is an important resource written in the field. In this work, Islamic moral values were written in detail according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. The scope of this book includes morality, Islamic moral values, the Qur’an, and Sunnah as the source of this morality, belief, worship, philosophy, freedom, and various responsibilities which morality is related to. In this work, Babanzade states that Islam is the “moral religion”. He also emphasizes that the basic principles of the religion of Islam advise people to stay from evil by always directing people to good morals and righteousness.
