The Tuba Shah Masjid in the Mardakan village near Baku, Azerbaijan, is a building with small dimensions a simple sight. Though it does not introduce a considerable newness to Turkish architecture in terms of plan and creation, it is clear that the building has some influence over the mosques and toms of the region with its regional peculiarities. The data of the construction is given in many sources as “866A.H./1481-82 A.D.”, however, an inscription dating to 1372, found on the inner wall of the masjid, causes debates on the construction.
