The concept of spatial planning began to appear in many work disciplines, especially in the 1980s, and in 2000, it introduced the definition of various occupational disciplines in terms of their own perspectives on the concept.nParticularly in the recent period it has been understood that regional and urban changes and transformations and traditional urban planning paradigms will not be sufficient and the tendency to spatial planning has accelerated.In the scope of the study, what are the strategic spatial planning approaches and what they cover, and the ways in which they are separated from other traditional planning approaches are put forward. With this determination, the reasons why spatial planning practice is needed in cities and what needs to be done within this scope are also made.
