In the discipline of Landscape architecture, using and building furniture elements that are designed and individuated in space systematically is at least as significant as creating space. There are a number of design standards that are necessary for the furniture elements. When these standards are used accurately and properly, the designs that increase life quality, that meet the needs and that are comfortable are created. Therefore, furniture elements that are formed in the process of design are required to enable the identity of space and its harmony with the architectural structure. In the discipline of Landscape architecture which creates livable spaces for people in accordance with the needs and desires of them by designing the environment, it is vital to build the relationship between furniture design- space organization. Thus, in this study, it is aimed to teach furniture design to the students in the education of landscape architecture. In this study, "Furniture Design" course that is taught in the 2nd year during the education in the Department of Landscape Architecture in Karadeniz Technical University is examined. This course is an elective course that aims to teach students how to enable the harmony between the furniture and the space and how to use accessories in the process of design in terms of functionality and aesthetics. The main aim of the course is to teach how furniture elements form spatial identity through integrating with space, themselves and the activity that they serve. In the first part of the study, in the process of furniture design in the scope of the course, it is aimed to explain how the students analyze the kinds of activities that are given to them and how they interpret the relationship among size, space and furniture in their designs, and their furniture design sketches are examined. In the second part of the study, a questionnaire is conducted, and through this questionnaire, it is searched to what extend the students have learned the sizes of furnitures, to what extend they are able to design furnitures with regard to the type of activity and to what extend they are able to build furniture-space relationship. Thus, it is aimed to identify the success level of teaching of furniture design course. Moreover, through the open-ended question in the questionnaire, it is explored what "Furniture Design" course means for the students. In conclusion, it is explored that the students have learned how to design furniture that is suitable for the size and the activity well in the process of furniture design; however, they have had difficulty in building the relationship between space - furniture because they have little design experience.
