The aim of the study which goes about the hünkâr mahfil in Bursa Ulu Mosque is to handle and define the unit that is generally ignored or just satisfied with specifying its location and only evaded its importance as ‘’there is hünkâr mahfil in the mosque’’. Primarily the history of the discussed architectural construction is described and then its importance is pointed out among the hünkâr mahfils in Ottoman architecture. Bursa Ulu Mosque’s hünkâr mahfil is one of the hünkâr mahfils which joined the construction in late years. As a distanced unit in Harim designed hünkâr mahfil is located in southeast part of the mosque. The late plant motifs and compositions of hünkâr mahfil on banister and cage plates reflect the art of the time in which the mahfil was built. There are many estimated building dates for this hünkâr mahfil on documents, but it is known that it is the second built hünkâr mahfil in Bursa Ulu Mosque. In spite of the fact that there is no inscription for the exact date, the time is generally accepted as the building date of hünkâr mahfil, when a window was began to reconstruct as a door in east front of mosque. But the documents and the art of ornamentation show that it was built in a late date.
