It is very important to identify the native and foreign people who are affected in the theoretical, cultural and aesthetic basis of literary texts and literary criticism. Knowing which writers and thinkers exist in the literary and cultural background related to Tanp?nar, which has a decisive influence concerning all the fields of history, criticism, novel and poetry of new literature, should be evaluated within this context. This work about the book of criticism by the name Yahya Kemal shows Tanp?nar's extensive accumulation of knowledge, ranging between classical to modern times, in different patterns of art and science as in literature, music and painting. This experience is one of the most important resources of wide range of Tanp?nar’s literary/ philosophical point of view. Our study has also showed the data that related to Yahya Kemal's poetic and thematic resources. Our study may have a meaning in terms of seeing the eastern and western sources of our modern literature in the sample of Tanp?nar and Yahya Kemal
