Abstract Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), therapeutic principles and based on the provision of cognitive stimulation, which does not involve pharmacological treatment, is a type of therapy that has been increasingly applied in the field of geriatrics in recent years. Particularly in cases where cognitive stimulation is required, especially in dementia, this method of treatment, which is preferred to medication, utilizes group activities, discussion and a range of activities on an individual basis. In the United States, the National Health and Care Center defined and implemented the practice in 2011. In the field of therapy, significant results were obtained in a short time. In this research, it is aimed to present the results of the basic researches made in this area during the last ten years by meta-analysis. According to the results of the research, BST is predominantly in patients with Alzheimer's and dementia in areas where cognitive abilities are decreased and stimulation is needed. BST is also effective in patients who are nursing, family members with caregiver burden, or in a group with no general mental disturbances in general. The fact that BST is the only drug-free treatment method in NICE guidelines makes it possible for cognitive or psychological and psychiatric methods to be intertwined so much for the first time in the medical field and to be treated as multidisciplinary.
