In this study, the artist Marcel Duchamp, who developed a new collector's attitude on the perspective of his period, and who started to work on his artwork in 1936 but could complete in 1941 due to the conditions brought about by the Second World War and because of the conditions in which France was in, is discussed through the production method and the art adventure of the monographic collection named 'La Boita en Valise', which he was able only able to first exhibit in New York. Duchamp’s work, which also carries the identity of a portable museum taking its roots from the power of the artist’s critical approach, by developing an understanding of criticism against the institutionalized art structure with reference to the Cabinets of Curiosity - which were an important starting point of Renaissance period collecting attitude- has not only led to the formation of an avant-garde artistic structure; but also clearly pioneered a new perspective on the method of collecting. On the other hand, in this study, the aim of creating “La Boite en Valise”, a mobile museum in which the artist gathered all his works in a miniature scale and in a single body, and the reasons for the urge to ensure the integrity of the artist’s own works are examined, and ultimately, the original purpose of the creation of Duchamp's personal collection have been put forward
