A community of people should have national and spiritual values in order to acquire national identity. It is possible to explain these values within the framework of culture. One of the most important parts of culture is undoubtedly proverbs. As in every nation, there is a rich tradition of saying proverb in the Turkish world as well. These harmonious words with broad meanings that began to be registered since the first written works by manifesting itself in oral tradition in the Turkish world have been confronted with utterance differences beginning from the XIII. century when the Turkish language was divided into different written languages. The same proverb formed in a common culture has continued its existence with a similar expression with either phonetic or morphological differences or by maintaining the partnership of meaning in different places. In this study it was put emphasis on the comparison of some proverbs formed with the dialect of Erzincan included in the eastern dialect group within the Western Turkish language with regard to the partnership of meaning with some Turkish dialects. Although there are differences of geography and time, it has been demonstrated that there are some similarities in the proverbs which are the result of the common perception of life and life-style.
