Music preference has an important place in human life as being a personal taste for entertainment. People carry their music listening preferences into personal listening places and every part of social life. This act which is generally associated with aesthetic orbeauty is actually a result of complexprocesses. To decide on a piece of music’s beauty or suitability requires a multitude of personal and social reasons. Personal factors which affect music choice include psychology, personality, sex and age, where associal factors include social lass, media, family and acculturation. There is no single factor which is regarded as either exclusively personal or social in nature and research about music choice shows mutual links among these factors. Because of the multiplicity of factors and its individual operation we can not forecast a person’s preferences. But we can understand the nature of music preferences for the average listener thanks to different concepts or models.
