The so-called study, mentioned in some publications, on web pages and on the notice board of the mosque as information, has been done after seeing that the mosque is attributed to the period of Germiyanogullari in the paper describing its history. Due to scientific, touristic, and Art History related reasons, this study is significant in terms of the introducing Sandikli’s material based cultural assets consciously. Hamamönü Mosque, which is located in Sand?kl? county of Afyonkarahisar city, is a simple example of the mosques with wood ceiling. In this mosque,” harim “ part was planned as rectangular in north-south direction. The mosque has three “sah?ns” which are divided by wood columns, as vertical to “mihrab”. The basis of columns have reused material from antique works. There is no building inscription related to the mosque and nothing is known about when the mosque was exactly built. However, when evaluating the architectural features, historical data and available data and supporting them by analogy, we can conclude that the structure has been built in the beginning of 19th century as a mosque and that it has been converted into the form of masjid later.
