The purpose of this study is to state the messages and evaluate their importance for children readers in Halikarnas Bal?kç?s?’s literary works which were arranged for children. In the study, thirty stories were examined in “Give way sea”, “The call of the sea” and “Smiling Island” books . This research was carried out in accordance wtih the principles of document analysis which is a qualitative research method. Accordingly this, first stories in his mentioned literary works were examined and implicit/explicit messages have been identified. On the other hand, the messages encoded as idea were classified under categories, “On Love”, “On Animal Love”, “On Natural Life” and “On Life”. Furthermore, the importance of classified messages were evaluated in terms of children readers. The evaluations states that, Halikarnas Bal?kç?s? provides an opportunity for wide range life experinces to the reader through his literary works. Also, it is seen that in authors literary works the arguments were developed according tho the child’s reality and perspectives.
