Corporate social responsibility, which, in general terms, can be defined as giving society what is taken from society, is applied not only by the private sector but also by the non-profit institutions. Among these, non-governmental organizations and state institutions take the lead. It is observed that, particularly in the recent years, the municipalities, which are important units of local administrations that provide public services, have operated with an understanding of social responsibility and they have reorganized their perception of service for the community from this point of view. It is because the local administrations have to be in contact with the society as much as, even more than the corporate businesses and non-governmental organizations, and there is a high community expectation about free services from them. Therefore, innately having the perception of public service, the local administrations not only provide obligatory services but also increase the social responsibility projects day by day, attempting to provide much more social support for the citizens. These projects are carried out sometimes by the institutions themselves, sometimes together with nongovernmental organizations or private sector. In this study, whose sample is the Metropolity Municipality of Istanbul, it ?s analyzed how and in which domains the corporate social responsibility applications are conducted. The analysis is carried out under the titles such as social support, culture, environment, health, and disaster-emergence response plan of the institution. In the research, it is observed that applications concerning social support services are intensely conducted.
