Today, the importance given to the preschool education is gradually increasing. With a comprehensive preschool education program supported by different disciplines, it is aimed to raise individuals with high awareness. It can be said that art education and practices have an important place in this regard. Art education is one of the most suitable areas where human beings can reflect their inborn trait of creativity. When the programs addressed for the development of creativity in the preschool education are examined, it is seen that most of the activities are limited to two dimensions and certain materials (such as paper, cardboard, plastic, dough etc.). In terms of the development of artistic creativity, it is quite important to think and produce in three dimensions. Especially the ceramics education, which is dealt with properly by field experts, plays a big role in the development of creativity. Information on ceramics in the preschool education, on the other hand, is limited to shaping only clay. However, ceramic education is a comprehensive process which has certain stages and incorporates many disciplines. To have knowledge about clay types and working process and to create a correct application environment are the features that enable creativity. This study aims to reveal the knowledge about ceramic education and the process of working with clay in the development of creativity in the preschool period
