International criminal courts have established to put an end to impunity for perpetrators of international Crimes. Crimes against humanity are one of the international crimes that took part in all statute of international criminal courts. A comprehensive definition of this crime was made with Roma Statute. In this study, historical development of concept of crimes against humanity; how concept is defined in international criminal courts; its common and material elements and how it was discussed in Turkish Criminal Code will be analyzed.
