The “cultural mediation” possibly best conceptual key for identify to the predominant musical roles of Roma(n) musicians, act in a large cultural range. These musical roles contains: intercultural transferring or transporting; transforming to different contexts; production of new forms and styles; historically preserving and transferring to next generations; and reformulating according to new social and cultural conditions. This article aims to identify the cultural mediaton related musical roles of professional Roma(n) musicians, during the annual “K?rkp?nar” Oil Wrestling rituals and to respond “how they transform a music or musical element from one cultural subsistence level to different one? Therefore, analyzes an example of oil wrestling music played by Roma(n) davul (drum) and zurna (shawn) players.
