In this study, qualitative and quantitative developments and evolutions in preschool, during the 85 years between the foundation of the republic and today, are tried to be explained with charts and the progress’ in schooling the teachers who play a primary role in the fulfilment of these developments and evolutions are treated, and problems and solution proposals are tried to be given. In 1923, when the republic was founded,when there were 80 preschool education institutions, 136 teachers and 5.880 students, these numbers reached the point of 23.653 institutions, 29.342 teachers ve 804.765 students in 2008-2009 academic year. Consequently, when we look at the developments since the foundation of the republic, we can see that strategic decisions have been taken and there are qualitative developments in preschool education, but, we are still not in the intended point in the rate of building scools especially in preschool education
