In Scotland, in 1763, the first steps of the industrial revolution were taken with the use of steam power by James Watt. Steam machines were first used in weaving looms. Families producing with traditional methods in rural areas could not resist the production of machinery and thus a migration movement towards the cities started. With the beginning of the use of coal in the 19th century, the heavy industry move started, and now there was a rapid development in both ships and railways. Thus, the formation of capitalists in industrialized countries in Europe and the emergence of a new class after migration have begun to change traditional values in countries. Along with industrialization, innovations took place in many fields such as production increase, market search, raw material supply, transportation, banking, trade, political structure, cultural structure, economy, law and science, first within the country and then between countries. Colonialism, colonialism, capitalism and imperialism have advanced rapidly in the search for markets and raw materials outside the country of industrialized countries. In this industrialization process, the countries that were left behind started to decline gradually and became the markets of developed countries.

The Ottoman Empire could not realize the industrialization process and continued its production with traditional methods. On the one hand, the change of trade routes after geographical discoveries, on the other hand, the introduction of abundant products from the American continent and the opening of the Suez Canal deeply affected the production of the Ottoman Empire. II. Although important industrial establishments (leather, carpet and fabric) were realized in the country during the reign of Abdulhamid, heavy industry could not be established. The fact that the country waged great wars and lost its land was of course important in the failure of industrialization.

Aegean Region of Turkey, which is very suitable in terms of climate, vegetation and rivers, is very fertile especially in agricultural areas. For this reason, industrial establishments based on agricultural and livestock products have gradually developed in Manisa since the 19th century. In this study, the industrial enterprises in the Ottoman Empire in Manisa, their production, the economic situation in the province, the industrial establishments realized in the republican period, their contributions to the provincial and country economy were examined by looking at the SIS, TUIK, SPO and provincial annuals. With the industrialization of Manisa during the republican period, its contribution to both the country and the country's economy has been determined.
