In this study, a total analysis of the objectives and contents of social studies course during the Republican period, the developments in the curriculum and the contents changing periodically in terms of the subjects to be selected are made. From the Turkish Republic to the present, there have been changes in the curricula of the social studies course in accordance with the needs and expectations of the related period. Like the primary education curricula prepared from the Turkish Republic until today social studies course’s curricula were arranged by means of either the Educational Council or by a foreign educational consultant and external factors.
