Israel is the state of Jewish immigrants. Almost all of the Jews are immigrants and come from different cultures. This cultural diversity became the main problem source in process creating homogenous Jewish identity in Israel. The dual commitment of the state of Israel as Jewish and democratic, presents a challenge to the balance between them. Israel is presenting itself as home (host) country for the Jewish people all over the world, is faced with serious problems on issue of identity and democracy, trying to integrate of the Jewish communities come from different cultures into a homogeneous Jewish national identity. This article addresses these events through a focus on the nature, politics and ethics of Israeli hospitality.
