In this study, the reflections of Orhan Kemal's novel trilogy Han?m?n Çiftli?i (Vukuat Var, Han?m?n Çiftli?i, Kaçak), on Adana will be assessed with their causes and consequences. In these novels, which center at the era covering the last years of CHP's (Republican People's Party) rule and DP's (Democrat Party) rise to power, and the following events, the characters show differences in their socio-economic status, class positions and the direct and indirect relationships they build with the politics. In the novels, the priviliged positions of DP party members and the land-owners that got rich under DP's rule are taken at hand, as well as touching upon the pragmatic ties the villagers build with the politics. This triad of Orhan Kemal enable a comprehension of the effects of Turkey's move to the multiparty regime on the socio-economic structure in Adana.
